This homepage presents a site describing a new "volumetric" machine called the TURBIVO, a shortened form of the French TURBIne VOlumétrique, a variable volume turbine.

This name is explained in the "Technology " section of this site.

The Turbivo operates without friction in the working volume and supports:

- low, medium and high pressures;

- low, medium and high temperatures.

It is a sealed machine which runs without internal lubrication.

Depending on the structure of the added components, the Turbivo can generally be used on:

- gas pumps or compressors: air, oxygen, nitrogen, household gas, methane, propane, chemicals;

- non-loaded liquid pumps: water, oil, wine, alcohol, oil, fuel oil, diesel oil, gasoline, chemicals, perfumes;

- hydraulic or compressed air machinery on building sites or quarries, agricultural machinery, and on the lifting gear equipping certain trucks;

- heat engines of the external combustion type: land, maritime and air transport.

The Turbivo is also suitable for forming groups of two or several Turbivos, eventually of different sizes, with a common shaft.

For instance:

- a group comprising two or several Turbivos with different cubic capacities working as a staged compressor;

- a group comprising two Turbivos with different cubic capacities, one operating as a compressor and the other as a pressure reducer in a unit forming an external combustion heat engine. A separate combustion chamber and at least one heat exchanger has to be provided in this case, plus the essential accessories.

As the Turbivo functions without friction in the working volume, mechanical losses are low to very low. They are limited to the friction generated in the shaft bearings and distribution.

Heat engines work based on the Joule cycle and they do not have a cooling or exhaust system.

The losses currently experienced on exhaust and cooling systems are therefore mainly converted into mechanical energy.
